PRP / ACP therapy

PRP or ACP therapy (autologous conditioned plasma) is a new medical technology used in the treatment of injuries of the musculoskeletal system , as well as in the field of aesthetic medicine , and is most often used in the rehabilitation of athletes , recreationists and people who are not active. This therapy has shown remarkable success in pathological conditions, because the recovery time in patients is significantly reduced. After only a few days of applying "ACP or PRP therapy", patients recover.

The field of sports medicine is advancing at a rapid pace and encourages many people, from the athletically active to the general population, to participate in the activities of the active and healthy. However, the increase in physical activity resulted in an increase in injuries to the musculoskeletal system.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recently investigated that musculoskeletal injuries affect people around the world and is the most common cause of long-term pain and bodily harm. Soft tissue injuries, such as ligaments and tendons, account for 45% of musculoskeletal injuries. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP or ACP therapy) is used to treat many musculoskeletal injuries including tendons and joints. It usually takes 4 to 6 treatments (injections).

Procedure:

  • A small sample of blood from a vein with a needle and a specially constructed syringe is taken from the patient in the office.
  • Blood is separated by a special centrifugation system.
  • During this process, concentrated erythrocytes, low platelet plasma and plasma rich in platelets and growth factors are injected from the blood and injected into the injured or damaged tissue.
  • The complete process is done under expert guidance, and the whole process usually takes less than 20 minutes.

Indications for ACP or PRP therapy are:

  • tennis elbow (epicondylitis)
  • golf elbow (medial epicondylitis)
  • jumping knee (patellar tendinosis)
  • Achilles tendon (achilles tendinosis)
  • posterior box muscles
  • osteoarthritis (hip, knee ..)

ACP or PRP therapy is also applied (dosed) in:

  • tendon
  • leaf muscle
  • quadriceps
