Intervertebral discs are an essential element of the human locomotor system, making the spine elastic and mobile. However, the central part of the disc happens to degenerate. Eventually, the disc ring protrudes beyond the trunk of the vertebrae, pressing on the root of the spinal cord nerve leading to recurrent low back pain and later to sensory disturbances and clenched muscles.
